the irony in bath's name

In Bath, it's too damn cold to take a bath.

Anyway, I'm here now. On exchange. In Bath. My gosh, it's finally starting! *Panics for 5 seconds* Argh! I just got the Internet connection up and running today, and already I've complained to some people over MSN about the state of affairs, including:

a. How my bathroom floor is so damn dirty even before I came
b. How the shared kitchen doesn't come with a clean water boiler (it's got black bits floating near the bottom)
c. How the kitchen doesn't come equipped with any dishwashing liquid
d. How I have to buy kitchen rags and foot towels on my own
e. How the mattress we're given is plasticky so it feels odd when you sleep on it, hence Zhi and I had had to buy a quilted mattress cover (doesn't feel as nice as it sounds).
f. How I'm so bad at these household chores that I feel like just stopping whatever I'm doing and bawl.

Everything's new and I'm on my own now. And I've never felt so ill-equipped. Doesn't help that the ang mohs aren't very friendly to Asians. It's the first time that I long to see PRC scholars just to make me feel more at home. Oh vell, maybe I'm generalising 'cos I suppose I did meet some nice exchange students... but no Brits yet.

Enough complaints. Sorry, bit of a sodden moment there. Now that I can finally finally upload piccies I shall do so, but will do it in reverse order 'cuz I just felt like it.

My cozy room! Was halfway through unpacking. As you can see I opened the drawers 'cos the wood was just too smelly. Need to air 'em out!

My made bed... I brought Ducky along! He was kinda squished in the luggage but he popped right back into his rotund shape in no time.


The deceivingly clean-looking ensuite bathroom. It's not half-bad, except for the yucky floor. I've yet to clean it thoroughly (too darn lazy).

I went crazy over tights and knee-length socks...


Travelling a lot means you spend great lengths of time waiting for your flight / bus / enduring your flight / bus ride... These babies kept me entertained (until I finished reading them and got so bored I read a leftover Cosmo back to back).


MJ's from New Look in London. Wore it to school today (first time I hit the campus!) and got painful blisters on my left heel. Bloody hell.


Dropped by the Sherlock Holmes Museum Shop in London (no time for the actual museum) and bought some postcards and a pin at a great discount!

How can you not buy souvenirs when you visit the Vatican, ey? Got postcards of Michelangelo's famous paintings as well as some rosaries for my mummy and grandmummy.

Oh gosh. I realise that for a time I totally forgot about the accessories I bought at H&M, as well as a tee and denim mini skirt I got at Bershka. And the Portobello market jewellery... Um... Ah... Guessishoppedalot.
