lesson #219: Harry Potter And The Wifebeatered Hip-Hoppers

A number of things have happened since the last time I blogged...


1. Finished reading Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince. It's a surprisingly good read. I didn't really like the last few books (because people die stupid deaths in them) but this one has got me hooked, and I'm not even that much of a fan. Can't wait for the next book to come out! Hope it's equally as long. I love a long good read. Makes you feel like the good stuff will never end, but when it does end, you feel contented.


2. Passed my basic evaluation. Took it this morning, actually. Scored 91% when the passing mark is 90%, so I barely skimmed the surface. I want to do better for the real basic theory test! Skimming the surface is rather dangerous. So I've booked for the earliest basic date which is 3 Sep, which is the day after SMU's freshman bash. And my test starts at 8.45 am in the morning. Great eh? But I figured it'll be all right. I will complain a bit more and then get used to the fact. It's really much better than the alternative, which is to wait til 16 Sep for the test, four weeks from now.


3. Configured my laptop's network connections so as to be able to access the new school network. Waited piss ages for the configuration CD, then found out you actually don't really need the CD. What the CD does is just to automatically do the configuration for you, when you can actually do it manually by opening the Network Connections option and stuff like that. Sure it'll be complicated, but it beats waiting piss ages for the configuration CD.


4. Went for The Last Mambo (surprisingly not as crowded as I'd have thought The Last Mambo would be) and hung out at Phuture all of the time. Came with the Bitch Club (Mag, PS, and VVVV) in a cab with Mr Boyfriend. Later on joined Syd and Changqi, then Kunz and Mich came.


5. It's now close to 2 am in the morning and tomorrow am performing for Convo with the rest of the dancers. Can't say 'with the rest of the dance girls' (which was what I typed at first) because there are also dance guys. Reporting time's 11.45 am. Hopefully can wake up earlier and then I'll have time to buy some hairpins and rubber bands.
