lesson #214: here's an alliteration for you - bloated beyond belief
Went shopping with Zhi yesterday. Spent a modest $70 (modest as compared to Zhi, whose total expenditure I shall not disclose here) on a white halter dress and silicone nipple covers. Yes, you heard that right! The silicone covers are actually very useful. $19.90 from Topshop, they're definitely worth it. Every woman should have one pair! You'll be able to wear all sorts of backless tops with them, and they don't look as gross as the more common silicone bras, which just look like slabs of fish meat. These covers are self-adhesive, re-usable, easy to store and fit all sizes due to their shape.
Wore the dress to a nice dinner with Gary just now. We went to Fosters, which is a posh English cafe. The flavours of the food there are rich, and the dishes are so darn filling! We started off with deep-fried calamari (on second thought, we shouldn't have had them because the main course was filling enough), accompanied by Black Russian (me) and Royal/Tia Maria (him). While on the appetizer we were also given complimentary bread. I think it's sourdough because of the richness of the taste, and the chewy yet soft texture. And their butter isn't oily at all. It's so smooth and milky that it doesn't feel 'fat'.
On to the main course. Gary had roast beef accompanied by Yorkshire pudding (which was yummy!), potato balls and veg (the carrot is heavenly). The roast beef is subtly aromatic. You can just get a hint of spices that are just very... English. I had pork sausages with the sides being mashed potatoes (the smoothest mashed potatoes I have tasted yet), baked beans (yummy! I love my beans) and crispy salty strips of bacon. The sausage! Its juice burst in your mouth, creating a distinct flavour which makes you feel that it's worth it to pay so much for a bunch of sausages.
For dessert, we had crepes! Mine's topped with banana slices and a generous helping of home-made chocolate syrup. Gary's was served with strawberries and marmalade sauce. The crepe's thin so the taste of flour was minimised. Combined with banana and silky vanilla ice cream... Mmmm. Unfortunately we were both already feeling a bit full when dessert was served (didn't prevent HIM from polishing off his dessert though).
The food was good. So you can roughly estimate the kind of money that he was paying. But great food aside, tonight's date (for it does feel like a date, a rather magical one) was wonderful! We both dressed up and fell in love a little more with each other. It was really nice snuggling up to each other after dinner, as if each of the nook and cranny of our bodies are meant to fit together. But eh... I'm not talking about the joining of THAT nook with THAT cranny all right!
Am gonna wear to bed the ring that I won from him through a bet. It just feels like that kind of night.
